Serendipity! Isn't that a beautiful word?
I met my husband on the NYC subway platform, more years ago than I am going to share with you, while I was "expressing my displeasure" with yet another train going out of service. He still treats me like we just met and he is trying to impress me.
Last year while at a party discussing our recent trip to Rome, we found out about cousins of his, we didn't know he had, in Bari. We promptly dashed off to visit. We had planned to go to Venice anyway, so we just changed destination. Small detail that they don't speak English and our Italian can barely keep us out of trouble. We had an excellent time! Allora!
Sometimes some of the best things in life come to us when we are not seeking.

Zen and The Art of Blogging.....

...with apologies to Pirsig, and Herrigel.
Okay, okay, setting up my blog is not as easy as I thought it would be. I did check outside a number of times to see if I could snatch a 12 year old to help me, but alas, I was not successful. Maybe it was for the best, given the possible ramifications of snatching said 12 year old.
As I mentioned previously, I like to travel and I especially like Italy. I have attached here, a couple of pictures taken in Positano Italy.

It's All About Me

Finally, people who want to know all about me!
So, I find myself in graduate school almost 30 years after my undergraduate studies. I am enrolled in the MSHRM program and this is my third class at BU. I like a challenge as much as the next person, but BU has given new meaning to the word. I am not complaining, it is fine with me since it means that I don't have to practice writing with my non-dominant hand in order to keep my brain cells active.
I work in New York City for a Foundation that does research in the social sciences, and I am surrounded by professors all day, as we have a visiting scholars program. I'll have to check if I have anyone visiting from BU.
I have one daughter who is currently looking at graduate schools. She had to finish college before I could look at graduate schools. Have you seen the cost of tuition??!! I couldn't afford to pay her tuition and mine at the same time.
I like to read and travel. I will read pretty much anything I get my hands on, but my favorite genre is historical novels. My favorite place to visit is Italy, though Jamaica WI is a close second with its treasures such as its national bird, the swallow tail hummingbird, whose picture I have attached here. I have never seen any place as beautiful as the Amalfi coast!
I think this class is shaping up to be a lot of fun. Don't you? Catch you later.
